Since the first season of "American Idol" debuted in 2002, judge Randy Jackson became known for his "dawg" talk during his honest-but-fair critiques. "Yo, dawg," "Wassup, dawg," and let's not forget: "The dawg pound."
The slang, Jackson tells Oprah in the above "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" video, dates back to his childhood. "I grew up in the hood in the south of Baton Rouge, Louisana," Jackson says. "The hood always has the different vernaculars, you know?"
